I picked one off last autumn from my front porch just out of curiosity. I’d never eaten a wild one before. Plucked and prepared it but was quite a struggle to clean properly compared to domestic birds. Wasn’t really crazy about the taste either, ended up gamey and somewhat tough. Would probably skip the hassle next time and grab a chicken instead 😆

But they are so damn plentiful, perhaps there’s more suitable preparation menthods that would allow me to harvest a few each season and keep the meat on hand as an adddition to other dishes.

🤣🤣🤣

It’s really funny that we have food flying into our backyards. But no one cares to eat it.

Right?! There’ll be literally 40-50 birds at times just casually strolling by. Nah, I’ll just got out and grab a burger 😆

Usually soups or stews.

Also, seasonings do help with the "gamey" taste, but I'm not sure what people do for wild turkey.

Yeah slow cooked is probably the way to go.
