Why did this not happen to gold?
Gold is money.
Huges swaths of buildings are overpriced garbage that have no future tenant as is. Developers will soon realize that a viable tenant is scarce. With no tenants they will need to quickly sell the property to the greater fool. These developers know what hard assets are and are tired of dealing with failed city policies and rising mgmt costs.
Real estate is rotating. Smart money already is.
I can't wait! Where I live they keep developing beautiful green pastures into ugly boxy apartment complexes. I can do without that.
