Just spent 2 weeks travelling in Asia where it’s all cash txs, they hyperinflated past coins years ago so just notes. Was carrying 3 different currencies in my trusty SatckSats wallet, ended up gifting the Opendime to a tour guide / driver who looked after us for 4 days.

I get why cashmaxis still value physical MoE. Asian cultures even have specific etiquette for handing over cash, like it’s embedded for them. There’s something more personal in that settlement than tapping a phone on a terminal.

Anyway I’ve still got a few of these handmade leather wallets for sale, down to just 69k Sats now Inc postage!

Yeah just came back from Thailand. They have 10 baht coins before they jump to 20 baht notes.

I used to empty my days accumulated coins out in the garden under my villa for the gardener to find.

I don't remember being so aware of the layers of slavery as I was on that trip. It was my first OS trip since discovering Bitcoin.

I like giving zoomers more cash than the total (like 1.20 for a 0.95 charge) and watching their heads explode. "This is too much" is the usual answer. I'm also getting rich off of incorrect change back.

I just had one announce the total as $26.43.

We don't have 1 & 2 ¢ coins here any more (the copper was worth more than the coin) so it's impossible to pay the 3¢ with cash.

They couldn't understand why I was laughing.

I always manage to offload more coins onto a boomer. I swear millennials don't even count the coins. 😆
