There is a big IF here. IF I choose not to pay or collect what has been taken by way of W-2, most likely they garnish my wages. Is it worth it to prove a point?

I don’t think they’ll garnish your wages but I think you’ll get a notice of taxes due which will cost a fee and accrue interest until paid back.
