Replying to codeslaw

There was a company that either tried and failed to launch, or did sell modular phones but it never caught on, and I think it was because they were ugly phones.

Probably just was too early. Hand phones have been Veblen goods, and still are to boomers, but its mostly past that stage in the product cycle
