Had a convo with a lesbian who genuinely believes her wife was fired for being gay, but she only seems concerned with the firing & not with the dangers of working for people who she believes hated her...

What would a person focus on if discrimination was actually the serious or dangerous issue that they make it out to be?

What might a person focus on if the goal was to avoid personal responsibility for anything that happens?

I think the use of confirmation bias to protect one's own ego is a fairly prevalent phenomenon.

The two options I have presented aren't really the only possibilities, but I have never personally seen any meaningful discriminatory behavior toward homosexuals & I HAVE personally seen more than one homosexual person assume that some political position communicated was proof of mine or some other person's hatred of them, even though there was none, & the point made had absolutely nothing to do with hating gays.

I happen to disagree with the patterns of thought & lifestyle choices of a whole lot of people, straight & otherwise, but I think people who see this disagreement as some sort of hatred are generally trying to avoid their own internal problems by imagining external ones.

I believe people are social beings that have a deep need for love & affection, so as long as people look for & find it with other consenting adults, I am happy for them.
