You do not want to captured in Russia. Innocent or guilty, you’re getting fucked up. Savage place.
Russian is my first language, despite being born and raised in NY my whole life.
Never been, never been interested in visiting…
Until now.
The danger beacons 😂
I don’t even even look at it that way.
I just don’t like America’s unmerited hostility towards Russia. Now that they’re sanctioned, and we’re engaging in a horrific proxy war… I don’t like that now, I “shouldn’t” want to go… because…

Guantánamo Bay, Abu Ghraib, Moscow....
Does any nation forgo torture in the name of human rights, when they could get valuable information from people who don't seem to care about other people's lives anyway? I mean, great justification right? These people killed innocents and Russia didn't kill them back, only hurt them, AND geting valuable information to boot.
I'm NOT defending torture, I'm opening a window into their minds.
Coming up to a higher level of civility where this doesn't happen is a hard ask. I'd love for humanity to get there, but I don't expect it.
So what have I learned from this event? That Tajiks are 96% Islamic.
Many of the surrounding countries have an identity crisis.
Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, etc
Their language is the same
Culturally, they’re very different.
