One of the main reasons I want to escape the fiat mines is to study more.

I feel so cheated by my public school education. I know very little about history. That which I do know is certainly slanted towards what they want me to know, not what actually happened. Or even just rounded out by different opinions.

But with work, family, social life, and trying to build something outside of that, it's nearly impossible to find time for any meaningful study that doesn't go towards escape.

question 🙋

what if you just let it be an escape and studied anyway?

It's a fair question, and I do still study things that are interesting to me. Time is just very precious at this stage of my life, so I never get to go as deep as I'd like.

Don't feel bad. Even many of the most highly educated history college professors haven't a fucking clue what true history is. That is something that has been hidden and rewritten so many times. You would need a time machine to discover the truth.

Best you can hope for these days is glimpses of historical truth, but we will never have all the pieces to the puzzle and finally see the big picture.

Oh I totally agree and understand that. But there are soo many things I still want to learn about that I struggle to make time for to do so. And there other areas of study that I am weak in that I'd love to learn more about.

Maybe that's just part of life in general 🤷‍♂️

That is just part of life.

Here is a new Legendary Meme inspired by your post. Hope it brings you some comfort and inspiration.

I feel this.

I have responded to this by filling every free second with podcasts.

I listen to a lot of podcasts too 😂 Usually when doing chores and mindless stuff. I have tried listening to audio books during this time, but I just cannot stay focused on it. For whatever reason, the back and fourth of a conversation keeps me engaged,.

Agreed. Audiobooks are more of a chore. But so much more dense with info.
