I am also more of a supporter of "small fedi" and see it as an antidote to technology corporations or perhaps more of a movement that is about a collaborative grassroots movement.
However, the essay elaborates on a few points that "big fedi" is already making:
- For it to grow, everyone involved should focus on a single technical standard
- The focus should be on onboarding, training and developer experience.
- The goal is to involve the whole world
In the end, both views will probably have to get along, in the best case they cooperate with each other.
