google’s own proprietary codec to kill JPEG XL, barely supported, JPEG and PNG work for 99.9% of users

and AVIF exists now

I didn't know it was proprietary! Good to know, I'll avoid it and use AVIF

it’s technically an open standard but it only works great on Chrome, basically no one else has good support for it. AVIF also has higher efficiency compared to webp
