relay.exchange has all of them listed afaik

Great, thanks. I see a bunch of them but I’m pretty sure they’re all different. How do I know which to choose?

Nostr.wine is good one

Can you say why? I’m trying to understand what they do, what the i options are, and how to choose. Or is just more better and add them all?

I checked on nostr.watch (website that shows relays) and then I filtered by paid. Nostr.wine is one of the fastest ones. It also has a filter (filter.nostr.wine). It helps bridge the gap between paid and free relays. You can read more about it here https://docs.nostr.wine/filter/readme

I mostly choose them by speed, to get a faster nostr experience. I hope this helps

A couple weeks ago I paid 45k says among several and tested them individually but didn't see much ROI.

None of them was a replacement for connecting to the 19 or so that Amethyst connects to by default. I do like supporting relays for their service, and there may be some undetectable benefits that I'm enjoying, but it wasn't noticeable.

I do think there will be value in helping people understand how to select relays and what those choices mean. Maybe I should write a guide.

Interesting, that I think that would be both a huge benefit for beginners and an interesting research project to inform future dev.

My sense is that the relay question actually leads into architecture, security and usage questions.

Continuing to dive…

Or use good free relay network like nostr:npub16fcy8ynknssdv7s487nh4p2h4vr3aun64lpfea45d7h4sts9jheqevshgh (but I am slightly unobjective) 🤣 🤙

I do! ⚡️⚡️⚡️
