What do you think?

Are people mostly good, and simply more free to act good here?

Is nostr just a sample of the rare and few kind/thoughtful humans?

Both? nostr:note1r8hnhymru6md53dxrx5aekqhhkjcmersxw3m0pvz9c3wmq0ex08q7t2f53

Yes, possibly and no. People, for the most part (over 99%) are good. Possibly people feel freer to actheree. I think the reason it feels as though Nostr is a safe space is because it is still very niche

Fair points!

They’re good here

Loved your note 💜

I think it's so many things. Nostr and Bitcoin/zaps changes everything. No algorithm to reward negativity and instead a financial reward for bringing someone value.

If you're a Negative Ned, a perv, rude, etc people will just mute you. And you miss out on all that fun of Nostr and zaps.

Nostr is rehab from legacy social media. This forces us to be decent in a way that the last two decades has proved rules can't.

And I think people are coming here with good intentions. So all these incentives to be good actually kept us good.

Very well-said! I agree that the existing ethos probably attracts some of the best people. Even so, with a pretty diverse user base at this point, I’ve been very pleased to see that the majority of people are still generally “good” 🫂

Well, acting good is endorsed here.

On other platforms, acting bad is endorsed, so people who aren't 100% either direction are incentivised to express more of the good here.

Getting views on other platforms doesn't actually mean people like what's being posted,

Zaps I think really help, as people who are acting good get more tips than those acting bad.

Also, people who follow freedom tech are probably more good as they have hope for a better future.

Those stuck in fiat are consumers because it's the only way to get any value out of what they earned. This leads to hopelessness and negativity.

Good take 🤜🤛

After visiting most of western Europe, and Russia, I only found good people that want good things for the world.

That’s what I thought 🫂
