I guess so, the main difference being Bitchat uses Bluetooth whilst Reticulum is radio agnostic so it can use Lora, giving the longer range.

So, could bitchat theoretically be used over reticulum? Something like: phone/device-->bluetooth-->meshtastic device-->reticulum-->radio-->receiver

Intriguing idea. Without researching at all I guess bitchat is open source and so is reticulum so why not.

Then the benefits would be the network effect of Jack with bitchat and the physical reach of lora
