Today, I’m traveling to the place where my father learned what it meant to become a man.

Deep in the Northwest Territories, in a village only reachable by plane, he taught 25 kids in a tight-knit indigenous community.

It was the first job of his teaching career, and he left behind all his friends and family with no method of communication for 2 entire years to pursue it.

He used to tell me stories of -40°C winters, bear & caribou hunting, and the deep loneliness of being an outsider in a world he barely understood. Yet, in that isolation, he found purpose in immense responsibility.

Now, as I approach 30, I find myself searching for that same clarity.

In a world where so many young men feel lost, I want to understand what he found - so I’m returning with him to make a documentary about it.

What’s the greatest lesson your father ever taught you?
