Did y'all try the keyboard fix? Per the Amethyst Users chat and nostr:npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z, the recommendations are AnySoft, GBoard, and UnexpectedKeyboard. My stock keyboard and FlorisBoard caused the same issue. I fell in love with UK, so it was no biggie for me to swap.
