To a degree, at least!
I’m thinking about the (very blurry) line between marketing and engagement farming - isn’t the latter just a style of the former?
If a brand that I’m slightly interested in is willing to pay me to learn about them, that feels like a choice I have the power to make as a financial actor
If I have no interest in the brand, then my attention isn’t worth the sats (or I’d require more compensation).
Not saying I’ll “sell out” my attention as a general rule, but the user should have the choice.
I much prefer this to the “you have no real control over what ads you see or which advertisers track you” model
