If theyโre a brand/content creator than itโs in their favor to engagement farm all day I believe..

To a degree, at least!
Iโm thinking about the (very blurry) line between marketing and engagement farming - isnโt the latter just a style of the former?
If a brand that Iโm slightly interested in is willing to pay me to learn about them, that feels like a choice I have the power to make as a financial actor
If I have no interest in the brand, then my attention isnโt worth the sats (or Iโd require more compensation).
Not saying Iโll โsell outโ my attention as a general rule, but the user should have the choice.
I much prefer this to the โyou have no real control over what ads you see or which advertisers track youโ model
Oh yeah I completely agree with you!! & Iโll def add that some ppl are selling their attention for a couple sats rn to repost someoneโs agenda which they might not even fully understand yet, which is why Iโm saying that type of engagement farming isnโt as valuable for the participants as it is for the creator, but theyโve yet to see that.. they instead as participants in the protocol should be encouraged to provide their own value in whatever way is most genuine to them and receive value for that.. itโs the way
Definitely - the participation & creating value of your own is the core here ๐ฏ
Iโve definitely noticed the differences too - โrepost and like for satsโ versus something like the posts that have a playful nature and sats rewards
Very interesting point you made about who gets the most value from it, too. I wonder how long it will take to find a market equilibrium there. Especially with satoshis so criminally undervalued right now ๐
