I've discovered it much later, but I agree, it's a must-study.

In the Shape Up, and all the other Basecamp books, blogs, and appearances, you can feel the importance of striving to simplicity and first principles more than anywhere else.
I was surprised that it took them (DHH) a while to understand the Bitcoin. Hopefully they get to nostr at some point as well.
They are pretty against oligopolies and closed systems, so I think there is a good chance that they will get Nostr. Honestly, their product Once.com played major inspiration in the Nostr for Business idea.
