Never build your house on anyone else's land. Never build your platform on anyone else's servers. Own your own domain(s). Leverage privacy-first communication protocols, both online and off. Host your own media. Disseminate your message on your own terms. Be truly sovereign.

Which domain registrar do you recommend for prioritizing privacy and decentralization? When I purchase a domain from them, do I have full ownership, or is it more like renting with the registrar retaining the right to revoke or suspend it at any time? Also, how can I transfer my domain freely between registrars?

This is good advice in general, but you cannot be truly sovereign without also being God. Your house and land can be taxed or taken, your server may have hardware backdoors, domains can only be rented. Everything we have is by the good graces of the people around us who agree not to take it. Build good relationships.

Owning domain is kinda difficult. They are mainly rentals. Nostr dns could fix it. Maybe gnu internet?

I love reading your notes and by trickle down learning I’m starting to really consider my own personal security on line.

What’s the best things I can do to keep myself safe on nostr ?

Thank you. That's awesome. Are you using Nostr behind an always-on VPN or over Tor? This would be a huge step forward for most people's privacy on Nostr and the web in general considering the fact that relays have access to your IP--including the malicious ones.

Nope , I’ve lost trust of VPN’s always use a mobile connection on a business line , I know it’s not great but it’s how I’ve been rolling last 6 months

Don't treat STEM like a magic genie bottle. Try and understand some basics. Your best tool is between your ears.

I use Proton's free VPN permanently.
