The mint isnt going anywhere. Honestly i doubt many of the herbs are dying from that either.

Perennials might not be happy but they likely wont die from being cut to the ground mid summer.

Just keep it all watered.

Sorry they did that, most people cant tell the difference between a mixed garden and weeds. I know the pain.
