Agreed. Just noticed recently that many people mentioned "too much bitcoin / crypto only" when talking about onboarding or exposing people to nostr. I'd agree but zaps seems to be the perfect tool to change that and I think it's already happening to some extend.
I see many people engaging more with #foodstr or
#naturestr notes than "random" Bitcoin notes or news. I like it but thought I'd mention it.. the tool is there and if used right we'll see all kinds of content on here. I think.
I never understood this complaint. Honestly if we look at the global feed today vs. months ago it's night and day. I just had a look and their is more non-Bitcoin content than their is Bitcoin content, so I'm not quite sure where the complaint is and what more they want. Every day that goes by #nostr is looking more and more like mainstream social media just without the cringe and censorship.
So I'm at loss for where the complaint is. 🤷♂️ No one said accounts have to enable zaps to participate, it's just encouraged.
Oh I'm not complaining at all I just made the notion that zaps are basically the #value4value tool at our hands and zaps are a great signal to see what kind of content users like to see.
But I also saw a few notes this past week that were discussing purple pilling people to nostr and what "their" response has been in many cases.
Very heavy on Bitcoin content with a lack of other content came up quite a few times and in general I totally agree with you. My feed is very diverse but perhaps that's because I've found a good circle of followers and people I'm following myself.
Either way I jus wanted to throw the obvious out there. The way to entice certain content over other content is obviously ⚡s.
With #nostr and #zaps the power is in your hands to curate and influence your feed....
