It's not an engagement note. I try reply to every single person every morning on my GM and PV notes.
I commented on this topic this morning because I yet again see people concerned with follow counts, when these numbers are just made up and don't mean anything here on Nostr. They don't mean that someone is actively being social or engaging with others. It means a lot of people follow them or a lot of bots/spammers follow them 👀
I have about 1100 followers on Damus, about 1600 on Primal, and a completely different amounts on other clients I load.
At first it concerned me, made me wonder if it was a glitch or something, then I just let go of caring and gifted myself the freedom to post whatever I wanted and just “be” here
I agree, it’s great!
But getting to that takes time because we’re coming from the Fiat world, from legacy social media, we are numerical gauges of our success, reign supreme.
These are tough ideas to break.
