The CS/OC mixture projectiles they fire would. As someome who has experienced both forms of pepper spray i would fight tooth and nail to avoid gettinf hit with OC again.
From a viewpoint of distract and escape i can see a use for them.

In addition these less than lethal can be a way to familiarize family who may not be as proficient with any firearms. Similar to buying a kid a bb gun, learn weapon safety and skills in a safer environment.
Due to the reusable nature of some of their ammo it can be a womderful addition to any armory.
Thats why i bought one for my 70 year old mother in law. She doesnt feel as nervous training with a byrna and we are progressing to actual sidearms now.
