Taxes don't fund anything, they only take the pressure off inflation so that money printing can command more of the total purchasing power.

Particularly when the fed printer is involved
This is the point that MMTers are totally right about. They miss the bigger point that a state-commanded economy is an instrument for utter tyranny and poverty but they are right about the fundamental fiat mechanism: you can print as much as you want so long as you tax the plebs in equal measure to create demand for the fiat paper. They describe the control/shake-down scheme very accurately.
