Been at the same company for 10 years next month. Its not that I can't learning new things or don't like the work, I don't respectb my managerr little resources and unreasonable expectations. No engagement from leadership. High pressure and stress.

Decided to take 6 weeks off work with the help of my doctor.

Will be applying to 50 jobs a day from morning till evening for the next little while.

Scary.

I've never worked the same job for more than 3 years..

This is my first time! But there is a lot on the line!

You'll be ok. Just spend the 6 weeks well finding something you like.

Worst case scenario, you can go back to old job. I've always managed to find something better..

(My job still sucks, but it's better than my previous ones 😅)

I will even take a 20k paycut, I just dont want the toxic environment anymore.

I was able to fake it, and tell them what they want to hear for a while, but they are tightening the vice on everyone..

My coworker, who is 100 times more productive and hard working than I am, was just put on a PIP (performance improvement program) because she was helping customers that are not part of her projects (there was nobody else to help them). Similar things happening to me. We both have applied to transfer to a different team and are getting blocked by the manager even though the other team is begging to take us on.

In one way it feels like im doing something stupid and giving up an easy work from home job that pays well. On the other hand I havent had a stress free weekend not worrying about monday morning till now.

I am worrying now, because tomorrow morning is my moment of decision but you are right....worse case scenario I just go back in 6 weeks lol.

Hoping not to lose my house and everything I have by then....luckily I have some Bitcoin savings otherwise I would be in a mental institute by now.

Damn, that sucks man.

Even if I did a job I didn't like, at least my weekends were mostly chill..

Normally you'll not lose your house so fast.

It really sounds like it's stressing you out so much. If you're ok with parting with some of your stack to maintain sanity and safety, maybe you should do that.

But try to tough it out and do some relaxing things too these following weeks.

You'll get there my man 💪

Thanks for the support! It is appreciated!

No prob man. Rooting for you!

Me either. I found that moving on was the best way to get a decent hike in salary.

Indeed. And at least when you start somewhere new, the first few months are usually quite chill.

If you are looking for anything hospitality related let me know. Happy to connect you with great people

I am open to anything. Yes Please!

Shoot me a DM with what area of the world you're looking at. Should have someone close by I can connect you with. It's the most grueling and rewarding work...serving others

9.5 years for me. Similar scenario as you, except I’ve not planned my escape yet.

Glad you got out!

Thank you for the positive support!

Absolutely! 🤝

Just came across this today, and thought of you. May not totally resonate, but it’s more fuel for the ‘get outta there’ mantra.

Good luck man. No job is worth so much stress when we paid in worthless fiat. Health is wealth.

Satoshienergy. Com is hiring 🫂🙏

Hang in there. I have been feeling the same thing lately. There’s a bit of a lack of hope for working stiffs these days. I had a bit of a revelation the other day. I realized that I haven’t missed a meal lately. I’ve slept in a comfortable bed as long as I can remember. I have a woman that loves me. I don’t dodge IED’s on my way to work. Yes I am in a cage, but at least it’s a nice one while I search for the key. Or until I hit a block and wake up to a freshly minted 3.125 BTC in my wallet lol. Until then, DCA, meet some fellow coiners, and see if we can start an enterprise of some kind. I see a huge opportunity to help normies get set up without rugging themselves. And showing tradfi people how to custody BTC the right way.

Same exact story here! I am thankful for all those things too!

Hanging in!

Hi cryptowolf 😉🤟🏴‍☠️ That sounds like a huge step, but it also sounds like a decision that’s needed for your well-being and long-term happiness. Taking time off to reset and focus on what’s next is courageous. It’s scary, but it also opens up the opportunity for something better, something that respects you and your time. You’ve got this good luck with your job search! It’s tough, but you’re taking control.

Wishing you all the best. 🤗

Tips:

1. Use AI to tweak your resume for different positions to try to outsmart the AI systems used to filter job applications.

2. Network. Expand your social and professional circles. “It’s not what you know but who you know” still applies.

3. Keep going. Don’t get discouraged.

4. View rejection as motivation.

5. Some job postings are fake. Companies are using resumes to gather data with no intention on hiring a human. Don’t feel bad for getting a quick “not interested” response.

6. Keep applying for job until you officially start Day 1 at a new job. I’ve personally had a job offer rescinded.

7. If you’re a believer in God, pray. God answers prayers and will give you what is divinely yours.
