Do you think they have a monopoly? Overall apple keeps you addicted to them, so while I kinda see your point; it’s pretty hard for people to uproot their entire function in the electronic world…

Making a product that people want so bad that they don't want others isn't a monopoly. There are alternatives and you do have a choice.

The decision will be based on how much free speech (and, potentially, privacy) matter to you.

iPhones are easy. I get that. Unfortunately, in this world, being free takes work. There is a whole ecosystem fighting against you. They think you prefer the convenient cage. And, it seems, most do.

The market has spoken, hence why apple has received the adoption it has in my opinion. I don’t necessarily think it’s a monopoly because I agree with the response below, people aren’t forced to buy phones and certainly aren’t forced to buy apple phones.

Now with that being said, the market tends to change its tune over extended periods of time. These types of things may just be a blip in the road for apples adoption or could have a longer lasting impact on people’s willingness to give apple the power they have. Time will tell
