You may call me a conspiracy theorist, but here are some things that I still can’t explain and that might indeed suggest Wagner‘s coup yesterday was a ride on the idiot train for all of us.
* One of the reasons Prigozhin started the whole thing was his claim that the Russian army is losing terribly along the entire frontline (voice messages from his TG channels). In fact, the „spring counteroffensive“ of Ukraine didn’t show significant progress despite tens of billions $ invested in it.
* Everybody saw photos & videos from Rostov yesterday, right? But do you also remember the Russian gov said also Voronezh and parts of Lipetsk had been occupied by Wagner? I searched for the whole day yesterday and found only a few photos from Voronezh yesterday. Why would the people in Voronezh behave differently and not start posting videos of Wagner in all social networks?
* Following up on the previous point, Prigozhin claimed he had over 20k supporters participating in the coup. The ministry of defense posted a number of around 5k Wagner people. But looking at the photos from Rostov and some sparse videos of Wagner cars moving towards Moscow, it looked like definitely less Wagners we’re involved.
* According to CNN: CIA just released a statement, in which it warned Congress about a possible coup by Progozhin a few days before it had started. But CIA also said the final goals of Wagner were not entirely clear.
