It's your keyboard. Change it to a new one. AnySoft or GBoard works fine on Graphene.
nostr:npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z there are weird text input bugs that've existed in #amethyst for a long time, but it manifests in different ways every time. I'll list a few below:
Any time I type a colon after a word and hit enter, amethyst duplicates the word again on a new line. e.g. trying to type 'hello world:' results in:
'hello world:
world:'
Also, any time I try to type L1, the text is immediately substituted for L1L. This one is particularly weird, because it doesn't behave like any other text substitution/correction in other apps.
My notes are littered with typo's from these bugs, and although my mind is getting better at detecting and fixing them, they're surprisingly annoying, lol. I'm curious if anyone's reported this?
I'm on a Pixel 7, running Graphene OS.
(P.S. typing examples of these typos was incredibly difficult, because Amethyst kept text subsituting from underneath me 😅)
Discussion
That was my first thought too, but I am using AnySoft. And I don't have this issue with any other apps or anywhere else in the OS. Its unique to Amethyst.
Tried gboard too. Same issue.
Then it can be something else. People usually switch to AnySoft and don't see any more issues. We can't do much on our side. These are between Jetpack Compose, Androids new UU framework, and the keyboard direct. More precisely, the automatic corrections available in them.
Hmmm weird. If it was an Android issue or a framework issue, you'd think I would experience it in other apps too, but strangely Amethyst is the only app. Well.... figured I'd make sure you knew. Sounds like you do 😅
