physicians bartering for services is a very old story.

Privacy

privacy in healthcare is an absolute myth.

how many _millions_ of people's private health information have been leaked from institutions tasked with the safekeeping of said info?

privacy is the reason why i, a physician who started using telehealth straight out of residency in 2016, still use a FAX MACHINE.

how many 3rd, 4th, and 5th parties are privy to this "private" information? each, a point of attack and failure.

etc

Use lightning wallets, or samurai wallets for on chain transactions

im literally registered with the dea, medical boards, doj (who do u think runs the dea), fbi (they have my fingerprints for background checks for hospital clearance), etc etc.

i cannot do such things EVEN if i can somehow verify my credentials in an anonymous way

Watch this, I now understand why banks ( eu, Canada Australia, etc.) gradually ban/ limit cash withdrawals and implement CBDC , they can stop anyone from buying anything. This is from China nostr:nevent1qqsfn3ryqhshmymz7qfrvqvz5wu7dwypgrshedrwgcrsp6zt6xdylsspz3mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfdupzpsnz9jgkmxusuy9grv46v7cehh7966lzdsjh2mglnyxn0pwwzdsmqvzqqqqqqypl4txg

Blackballed by incumbent payors?

i've never taken insurance and never will but having said that, as a private practice, out of network physician, INSURANCE IS THE BANE OF MY EXISTENCE.

how is that possible, you ask?

PRIOR AUTHORIZATIONS.

you can pay me in fiat, or btc or chickens for my services but if you want your insurance company to pay for your medications guess what i need to do...

This is why, despite many aspects which need improvement, I ditched insurance for my family and switched to CrowdHealth. I’m hopeful they’ll have healthy competition soon.

Taxes?

the cpa firm i work with charges 300 to 450 per hour lol. more than me

Government Regulations and Bureaucracy?

Because now you have enough and you practice medicine just for the pure joy of it... :-)

i thought about starting a practice where i charge nothing. not possible. may talk about why in the future

It was meant as a joke... But wow I can imagine that your colleagues from the medical chamber would rip you apart.

Because someone snitched?

lol

i'll pay out to the person who is closest if no one gets it right by tomorrow afternoon

Because nobody paid in BTC?

i was in SF 😉

Career risk. You were catching heat from certifying authorities who were threatening to pull your license to practice.

this is closest so far. i'll say i've never caught heat from any authorities.

Leave it to the walled gardens of professional science and technology practices to be the arbiters of who can and cannot access their profession. You don't have to look too far to see roadblocks to why more businesses haven't taken Bitcoin for their products.

this is a snapshot of my website available via wayback machine from march 2017

(don't put effort into doxxing me i will be doxxing myself when offering services, etc., thank you.)

ps that didn't always say "digital currency" but...

Association with actual criminals, like you would be looked at as one.

5k zapped to the two people who got closest to the answer.

the answer:

optics

aka, it didn't _look good_

there's a lot to unpack here which i may do at a later time.
