Is simplex not popular? Why did it not take off?
One issue I have with it is somehow my connection to another user stopped working and now I have no way to invite them again

Been using it as my main messenger for like a year with no issues, same with friends and we're all on pretty different setups. Strange.
What’s the issue you see? It seems to work most of the time for me
In groups some people do not see messages, it eats 27% battery when idle on a Graphene OS pixel if I want instant notifications. It gives error failed to decrypt and I lose messages. On desktop it is not synching because I have a vpn on desktop and phone. The list probably continues but this is whaylt comes in mind quickly.
How did it stop working?

Yes, it works but not smoothly
I quit using it because it would drop messages with no error/notification/indication. I can't trust that for communication.
