Proper shampoo and conditioner containers open from the bottom now. That way when they get low, the product pools near the opening while it is sitting there and still comes out easily, rather than the user having to struggle like a fool to get the remaining product out of a container with the opening on the top and the product pooled on the bottom.

So the fact that the vast majority of containers still open from the top seems idiotic to me. Why don’t they all open from the bottom, ever since someone figured out the right way to do this?

It really depends on how viscous the contents are, but I generally agree with you. I have top-opening shampoo and conditioner and printed out a stand that lets me store them upside down.
