Here's a solution I've found works great to activate phone numbers anonymously. I used a BTC Co prepaid USD cars to pay the $4.99 one-time expense for them to ship me a Sims card to a friend's PO Box.
Now, my Uber drivers only see me as Ov1!!!

There are zero monthly fees for unlimited calls & texts, only some ads to deal with. IF you don't use your number at all for a week or so, they will take it back and issue a new one. Which I like as it creates a Dead Man's switch that makes even that number and those I've used it with, effectively "amnesiatic". Or not, if I keep using it.
That's the one I've used before. I never thought about using a prepaod USD card for a sim. That's a great idea. I'm juat trying to restart my YouTube channel.
