Thanks and nice to meet you! The lightning side I’m finding pretty tough at the moment. I’m using Primal but ideally I’d rather run from my own node/self custody etc. Not sure why zaps aren’t working, works the other direction!

I can probably work it out but it would take me a day, where as someone more familiar with the tech could probably do in10mins.

I’ll pursuit though, digital dystopia is a big concern for me, especially now you can make songs inputting a handful of words, even if I think they’re shit, it doesn’t mean they won’t find economic value!

Re Lightning, I'm not entirely sure what's going wrong for you but I'm also using Primal and it works for me. Do you have a lighting address set up? (See screenshots of settings > wallet and profile > edit profile)

I think your right to prefer self custody in general, but I've only got a few thousand sats in the primal wallet and I think that's completely acceptable and convenient. Send it out to a self custody wallet later.

I failed to add the screenshots to the last note doh

I thought Primal functioned as its own wallet in iOS? I also have Phoenix and Mutiny but neither seems to have a NWC and invoices are different to a lightning address right? I’ve seen I could link via ZapplePay, I’ll take a proper look when I’m not at work.

Does your Primal app show a lightning address like mine does? I'm not sure if "Primal Wallet enabled" is synonymous with "also has a lighting address enabled" but I'm suspecting it's not and you have the former (so can send) but not the latter (cannot receive)

No it’s blank, whether I click the Primal Wallet Enabled tab or not… Weird as I seem to be able to zap people, at least the sats disappear…

Looks like I’ll need to get a node up and running I guess.

you can send from the primal wallet but cannot receive to a lightning address.

I would recommend getting in touch with primal on Nostr or elsewhere and asking how to set this up. I unfortunately don't remember how I did it!

Worked it out! I was assigned a name which turns out was the lightning address, although that didn’t seem clear at the time, I thought it was a user name but I’d already registered one elsewhere! Everyday a learning day…

Totally agree with you about the digital dystopia concern. Personally, I think peer to peer tech, trust-but-verify, and sovereign (trivial to use, zero maintenance) personal servers are the only ways we avoid that calamity. Building it!
