Today's side-task was setting up a music service to run with it's audio streamed to a small server machine. For reasons of usability it kinda needs to be a "normal" service with a phone app - so basically Amazon Music, Youtube Music, or Spotify...

Looks like we're stuck with Spotify because despite trying to find ways to make the others work first I've given up, found a way to do it with Spotify (spocon) which "just works". 🤷🏻‍♂️

Though probably we'll just end up screwing an Android tablet to a wall behind the bar and running an audio cable from it's output jack to the amp. (Often the simple oldschool way of doing something is the most appropriate and least troublesome. But I've got to entertain my desire to over-complicate everything by working out how to put a server into the middle of it.)
