✅Non-KYC corn from HodlHodl & work

✅Coinjoin with Sparrow Wallet

✅Secure stack with Coldcard

✅Multisig with Nunchuk

✅Verify with Start9 Embassy

❌Bank runs

Here's a step-by-step video tutorial flow on how to do each of these things and become bank-run-proof. Follow along and level up!

Firstly, you need to get set up with a solid wallet with all the great features a Bitcoiner might need. I'm a big fan of Sparrow Wallet on desktop because of its versatility. To simplify, you can start off with the initial section on hot wallets.

Verify transactions yourself by connecting to your own node. Start9 is an awesome option that will give you a lot of other sovereignty tools as well. Follow the build, or skip ahead if you bought pre-assembled. Wallet connections at 50:26

It's great to EARN BTC through a good or service you offer. Doing so puts you ahead of the pack! If you're still fiat mining, then stacking non-KYC is 👌👌👌

Here's a walkthrough of using HodlHodl - just send to the Sparrow Wallet you set up!

Whenever you receive BTC it's a good idea to coinjoin and maintain forward-facing privacy. You can do this directly in Sparrow Wallet with their built in whirlpool. Full tutorial here:

Some of you will want to store your stack in a single-sig hardware option. This Coldcard tutorial goes DEEP, but you can stick with the opening 45 mins for basics. BONUS: Mix directly from Sparrow to CC (instructions in previous vid at 31:17)

Those looking for more robust security with multisig & inheritance can dive into Nunchuk. Full tutorial here. Fun fact: you can save your BSMS backup file and import it to Sparrow Wallet so you can still mix directly to it!

Well, there you have it. Even if you only do the first step of getting a wallet & stacking some corn, you're STILL bank-run proof! That said, I'd encourage you to chip away at as much of the above as your curiosity will allow.

Stay safe, stay curious, stay sovereign.

Excellent resource as always!

Only nitpick is that steering people towards Whirlpool without explicitly explaining the risk of the majority of users (Samourai Android app) leaking their xpubs and reducing anonset for everyone in the pools is a major oversight. They'll claim that most use Dojo/Sparrow but I'm highly skeptical.

I'd push for Jam/JoinMarket instead. 👍

Got one for that option as well 😉

Can I add https://www.binkbonkbank.com to firewall your seed phrase if you don’t want to go multisig

I'm so glad you exist Ben :)

Your videos are a great breakdown of how things work & give people the confidence to try something for the first time. My favourite non KYC is Robosats. HodlHodl is great, but Robosats using Lightning is so fast and more convenient, especially now they have an Android app. I know you have a video on it.

Actually didn't know about the android app! Excellent.

Its pretty good and over Tor but is quick. You can also run your own Robosats Instance on Start9.

Robsats is fab but do also try Peach and Bisq.

We’re lucky to have you Ben

Can you help me decide between an umbrel node, start9 and futurebit?

I personally like Start9 because it's a solid foundation, built to be censorship resistant (allows for alternative app marketplaces) and has all the tools you need for both bitcoin/data sovereignty. Umbrel is user friendly at the expense of infrastructure security tradeoffs. Futurebit (though I've not tried it yet) is more of a home-mining focus with less options when it comes to additional apps (like lightning, etc)

Correct on futurebit. It’s a full node and a mini miner and a linux desktop, but you have to do everything on your own, meaning, no app store or anything that automatically does anything for you as far as connecting to your node, it’s all manual. I still like it, but I would say it’s for the tinkerer and hardcore bitcoiner.

Thanks for this. Doing some research on this. Could you expand on ‘infrastructure security trade offs’ for umbrel

Okay, I think I’m sold on the start 9 and will watch your tutorial.

Sounds like I can run a core node and lightning node with it correct? That’s what I want to do (plus sovereign computing)

As far as mining, what’s the most cost effective option? Bitfuture, compass, river. Hosted or not? I need a guide. Bitfuture appealed to me because it’s not that expensive or loud

For start 9 I need a 220V plug right? So I’d need an electrician to install a new one of those for me somewhere. That might be a hang up for a bit

I have a mynode, but it is not working properly. So I ordered a start9 this morning. Hoping it is the answer I'm looking for

Tag me sometime or make a post on how you like it…

I might get one next month

Sure thing. Think that said it will ship on monday

I use Umbrel but S9 is in my sights as I want to run my own server at some point too.

thanks a lot

That sounds awesome!

This is great! Needs to be a #bookmark for future reference for sure.

Thanks for all you do!

should I hang tight in Monero while I wait for the smoke to clear on all of this?
