Unregulated foods leads to this. Go on, continue with deregulation of food and let companies dictate what goes into your food.

Why does Europe not have this problem? Or anywhere else for this matter? Because quality control and food regulations prohibit the use of chemicals, preservatives, sudo-sugars and GMO carbs.

Then you have big pharma...

The subsidization by the government of horrible monoculture agriculture is a huge factor as well.

If wheat farmers that are spraying their crops with roundup at harvest time weren't getting subsidies they would be growing what the market actually wanted- like grass fed beef.

If the products that "should be regulated" weren't so artificially cheap (and engineered to be addictive) they wouldn't have as much market share.

Cutting off foodstamp access to processed foods would also help IMO

Pharma is another huge factor- you're right. They get customers for life and never cure anything

The history of Monsanto is dark, and knowing. So is Dow

The US has food regulation; it's just written by the industry.
