I dunno, my husband found me. He was never showy about his income or job. But yeah, when he met me his SIL told him to 'be careful' because I didn't own a house and nice car like him at 22 years old.

If you act paranoid about that it would be a huge turn off.. Imagine dating someone and always wondering if they were wondering if you were only their for their money. Hubby put his SIL in her place immediately so I've never had to wonder if he was wondering. But we have been married for 12 years and I still make sure not to touch his income unless I need too. Both he and my best friend me off for my attitude all the time. But I don't ever want him to think it's about the lifestyle. It's actually still stressful from this side.
