Could someone explain to me what sign with extension is and means?

It means a browser extension like Nos2x or GetAlby. On Android, there is the Spring Browser that you can use that acts as a browser extension.
Firefox & Kiwi Browser support extensions on Android as well ✌️
So how would I go about activating one of these extensions and link it to my nostr account? I have spring downloaded on my phone. 
its referring to a browser extension. there are several extensions that have been developed as a way to use your nostr account without putting the nsec directly into the website...a safer way to do so basically.
most common ones i am aware of are alby and nos2x extensions.
You need to have your info loaded into something that will sign in for you. I used nsec.app and it worked nicely. There was one for Mozilla that I am now forgetting.
Instead of jeopardising your nsec by posting it into random websites you'd use s browser extension to sign the requests for you without possibly giving a bad actor control over your noste identity.
Alby and nos2x are good extensions amongst others

Ok. I think I already have alby. And I just did nsec.app.
Could it be that I am experiencing issues cos I am on the grapheneos vandaniun default browser? Don't have any other browser installed as of yet.
