Replying to Avatar Ava

It's here! The Pixel 9 Pro XL is such a big upgrade from the 6 Pro. I'm a big fan of the new edges and redesigned camera bump—it finally looks and feels like the flagship phone it is.

As expected, the easy data transfer wizard simply did not connect to my GrapheneOS phone. I had to set up the device as new, and now I start the process of manually moving things over.

I'm okay with that; it provides an opportunity to reassess my installed apps and remove the non-essential. Thankfully, the automatic Google Fi eSIM transfer was seamless.

I was going to go with the 9 Pro, not sure I want/need the XL. How does it fit in a jean pocket with a case on it?

The screen protector and case are on their way, so I'm being ginger with the screen now and not putting it in any pockets. But, just like any larger phone than what you're used to, it depends on the size of your hands and what you are comfortable with. I suggest picking one up in your hands and getting a feel for it.

I can tell you that it is basically the same size as my Pixel 6 Pro—just a little heavier, a fraction shorter and wider with a 0.1-inch bigger display—and that I am quite happy with the size when wearing jeans and using a thin case.
