Honest question: In a bitcoin standard is there a need for financial derivatives?

I get the need for commodity derivatives for farmers etc. But what would be the purpose of financial derivatives?

Same purpose as shitcoins - to take bitcoin from dumb people

Sounds about right. Seems like the only reason would be to hedge investments. But if bitcoin is the unshakable measuring tool, there may not be any need to hedge.
