GM Nostr!

For all you #homesteading and #permaculture experts: what’s an effective way to rid your space of groundhogs and feral cats?

The woodchucks are destroying out plants and the cats are using our raised bed as a litter box and bringing fleas to our dogs.

Hey there! Have you tried using live traps for the groundhogs and deterrents for the feral cats? What methods have you found to be most effective in dealing with these pesky critters on your homestead? #asknostr

Haven’t tried traps yet, but that’s where I’m leaning. Recently spread cayenne powder in problem areas and waiting to see how that works.

Pepper powder can help keep cats away.

Traps can be effective against the ground hogs.

Thanks! Just put down cayenne powder. We’ll see it it helps.

Just remember to re-apply after a rain!

Sounds like I’m going to need an industrial tub of cayenne if it ends up working 😂

I do hope it helps.

Update: my wall of pepper lasted all of 12 hrs and a hole has been redid under my deck. I suppose it’s time for a trap

Boo!

The right dog, or right training, could reduce the activity of mammal pests.

For fleas indoors, especially in carpet or fabric, sprinkle borax and vacuum it up. You might need to repeat a few days later.
