Cool (seriously), but automate that at your and the entire network's peril however.

Do you seriously think me blocking some users from my personal view will put the network at risk? 🫠

You don’t even know who I follow!

Sorry for the confusion but I meant, if you took it one step further and automated that process (e.g. shared blocklists.) again if you block people it doesn't hurt the network no.

Oh I wouldn’t do that and advocate against doing it on principle. My blocklist is personal.

Shared blocklists are propagating an agenda. A slippery slope. At least relays should be transparent about what they block, I don’t think this is possible on a protocol level, but maybe through probing?

Oddly I’ve blocked the person you’re chatting to already. Not sure since when but does make sense why now seeing just your half of the convo.

Imagine censoring things and not even remembering why you censored them. Truly dystopian.

There’s a difference between ā€œcensoringā€ and ā€œmutingā€ something one considers ā€œnoiseā€.

I haven’t ā€œcensoredā€ them - they can go on doing anything they please - just off my feed.

There is not. Muting is a form of censorship. You have censored them from your feed. The fact that your censorship has limited scope doesn't somehow make it not censorship.

If I, the PM of India, censor you in Indian media, you can't go "That's not censorship, you can still talk in Australia!" That's just silly.

Muting is a form of ā€œpersonalā€ censorship. Blocking out the noise.

Personal and societal censorship is very different.

You’re not kicked off from using #Nostr. You can change relays. You can choose.

I hate to be a realist. As I live in a big city - you’re quite aware everyone has a very different view. There’s stuff you agree on and there’s stuff on the edges that we may have differing views. Not everyone agrees on everything and this is very different than living in a bubble.

There’s a social norms where you don’t need to listen to what others say, not be rude about it and go your own way.

Personal and societal censorship are essentially the same from a moral perspective. The only difference is scope & consequence, which are irrelevant to a moral perspective. The fundamental act and its moral principles are the same.

If you simply ignore anything you disagree with, you will quickly find that you have passive aggressively removed those people from your society. The only real difference from taking them out back and having them shot is that you sleep better at night. Either way, they are still ostracized to extinction.

Neo-Marxism is never-ending. Once it's in the door, it never let's go.

That's why it was created and promulgated by the Jew. It guarantees destruction of the people embracing it.

What's your next step? That is the question.

If others act like you, YES
