as a nanny for an immigrant family- i am reminded of this every day.
glad to be here to unschool after school day in n day out.
And thus the circle continues. Joking aside, wish me luck I don't make that particular mistake with my own.
When you come from nothing, you want to give your kids everything.
Then you realize giving them everything teaches them nothing.
How about "everything they need"? Every steak, every learning material, every emotional coregulation etc.
I wish someone taught this lesson to my parents.
