Very informative, thank you

I had no idea Thiel was in any way involved with Brave--which has my fav browser for years. I'm shocked and disappointed.

Ah, my apologies I misunderstood. Yeah, I switched back to firefox based browsers a while back because I question the direction Brave has been going. Although I would still argue it’s better than most “normie” browsers. I’m not sure receiving money from Thiel corrupts it entirely.

Why does this bother you?

Because I don't trust Thiel and don't want anything to do with anything he does.

Sure, I get that. Has anyone found any issues inherent in Brave (aside from the 💩 coinery) that are cause for concern?

A bit different, but in priciple it seems similar to the Intel agencies being heavily behind Tor and involved with Signal. That fact doesn't in and itself detract from the usefulness of the tools.

Not that I'm aware of, but my tendency is to not wait until _after_ something is discovered. Accounting for the 'unkonwn unknowns' is part of vigiliance, in my perspective--though that does leave one rather low on viable options. (I appreciate your pushback, brother.)

A few alternatives you can explore:

Ungoogled Chromium

Libre Wolf

Orion by Kagi (Mac only at the moment)

I've used all three and like them alright.
