Making some comfrey salve with tallow today. So far I’ve only used coconut oil. The tallow is from a farm here in town as well as the beeswax. I love using ingredients that are only a few miles away. We freeze dry the comfrey leaves after picking from our property. This is my plan for some of the lard we'll make from the boar heading to butcher here shortly. Our comfrey just woke up and is taking over the raised bed again. Do you add anything else besides the fat and comfrey like bees wax? I've been adding oregano oil to my Dr. Cristophers and it seemed to help heal even faster.

We are giving a blended coconut oil/comfrey mix to our old dog that has severe hip issues. It has kept him more mobile and dramatically reduced his pain. He's an 80lb dog and he gets about a heaping tablespoon full a day. We haven't tried giving him more, but that seems to be enough to keep him from hurting when he's laying still.
