I'm pissed off again. I've gone back to blocking all facebook and google (alphabet) domains on my pihole. Fuck 'em. I think I can get by without google. Last time I caved after a few months because of work - that won't be the case this time.

Countermeasures enabled. I think everything is fine, but when my computer does something unexpected and strange at the same time I get a suspicious phone call, I shut everything down and try to piece things together. I'm suspect I'm being paranoid. I'm on a different computer now, a more secure one.
So I've worked out what was wrong with my computer. I wasn't hacked, I hacked myself! My tor browser wanted to upgrade itself after I had already run it several times today, which was odd (normally it would be on first run). Then my network went down. Turns out I had too many sysctl network scripts (netctl doesn't remove one when it adds another and I just added a new profile to use my pihole again, so that was my fault). The phone call was someone claiming they just got a call my my number, but I hadn't picked up my phone in hours. It was the timing that was suspicious. So in the end... only the phone call was a bit weird.
Anyhow, I got my secure computer upgraded.
