Yes, the Trudeau government is requiring big tech to pay for the news they share. Not clear to me if Trudy just does not understand incentives, and that these companies would inevitably decline to pay and stop sharing news, or if this was what he was going for. I can’t see it being the latter as Canadian media (and all it’s government funding) always has kid gloves on for ol’ Justin and paints the mini-tyrant in a good light. I am still seeing news in my feeds but all these outlets are saying within days it wi be gone. And apparently it is already gone for many users.
