Interoperability between “post-based” social networking systems by finally providing a base layer.

I look at Nostr as an online version of online anarchy, the manifestation of books like Machinery of Freedom or Ethics of a New Liberty.  Relays are not obliged to transmit anything you say, but if they censor you, you can choose a new relay or run your own.

low cost of onboarding. everyone on nostr can start using a new app within seconds without registration. high redundancy: if a relay goes down, another is always up.

Allow free flow of information which is necessary for humanity to advance

Walled gardens became prisons, and nostr is the first step towards tearing down the prison walls.

Making the internet the internet again

Spurs us to innovate and build, rather than consume, both on the dev and the content side

Data and social graph mobility which leads to censorship resistance.

Data middlemen.
