Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this latency also bad for big miners? If 2 blocks are found close to the same time, the miner including all those garbage transactions nobody has seen before also risks a stale block because the "standard" block was already validated by the majority of nodes already. Thats why slip stream cost double the regular network fee to make up for this possibility.

I dont know how this really affects the network, but it sure seems we cant get a straight answer out of Core apologists and they seem to be really unhappy with Noderunners running their own settings.
