Why do many businesses accept Bitcoin as a payment method, yet rarely offer discounts for using it?

Everyone I know & used takes a solid 10%+ off using Bitcoin

This is not the case with several businesses that I use....

This is the way.

Because people don't demand one. From a purely self-interested perspective, consumers in this situation would choose cards which give them cash back. If a business actually wants users to pay in btc, they should offer a discount between what BTC saves them in fees and what typical CC rewards are.

We’re offering 10% Maple AI when paying in Bitcoin https://trymaple.ai (ignore the temporary fiat discount. That’s going away 😆)

I just got it! Thanks for the 10% off

For us, our goods are already less expensive than most comparable products at the farmers markets, and we are the only vendors who accept #bitcoin. It is a novelty and a conversation point more than a revenue stream, at this point. The other bitcoiner at the farmers market doesn’t want a target on his back because he accepts The Coin, so he doesn’t even accept it. Many of the bitcoiners who are customers are hard core hodlers no matter what our price is. There are some very legendary exceptions, but they are few, and almost all are on #nostr .

They should have prices in sats then add 10% if you want to use fiat. 😁

Why do you think they should offer discounts?

they are getting sound money
